We are two thirds to our Construction Fundraising Goal

Over 800 guests gathered at the Kerry Hotel for New Sight’s second fundraising dinner on Saturday, 12 May. We are so thankful to all our sponsors, performers, volunteers, table hosts and their guests, and friends who made the night so special and meaningful – an amazing HK$10.1 million was raised on the night! We are therefore now only HK$18 million short from our estimated construction budget of HK$55 million! The detailed construction design has been completed and we are entering the tender process. We need your help to get to the finishing line. To donate, please visit www.newsightcongo.com/donate

If you are interested in naming rights, please email us at phoebe@newsightcongo.com.

Impfondo Eye Centre is thriving

We gave the Impfondo eye centre with all the equipment and trained staff as a gift to Pioneer Christian Hospital in August 2017.

The nurses who we trained can now handle emergency, consultation, inpatient, anaesthetics, and minor surgery. Henri has been going back every 2 to 3 months to perform major surgery. (Here he is on a piroque, one of the types of transportation in his 5-day journey to Impfondo.) The clinic is self-running and continue to see about 130 patients a month! We are very proud of them!

Congo team is growing

We are thrilled to announce that the Targett family has made the bold decision to step out of their comfort zone to join the New Sight team in Congo. Annabel and Doug, along with their 3 children, Hannah (age 7), Samuel (4) and Sophie (2), are currently learning French and fundraising to relocate from Leeds, UK to Ouesso, Congo for an initial period of 1-2 years in January 2019. Annabel and Doug will mainly serve in the areas of administration, facilities management, and construction. To follow their exciting journey, please visit: http://africatargett.org/. To make a financial gift to empower them to serve, please visit: https://www.give.net/20241472
