Joyce Samoutou-Wong’s talk at TEDxTinHauWomen

Posted on January 31, 2019 by Phoebe Chan

“How children can lead social impact”

Many parents and society treat today’s children as passive actors in social change. In this talk, Joyce speaks about on how parents, educators and the community can support and empower children to impact social change in the world. Joyce also shares about a chance encounter in Congo that made her reflect on her need to look up, see others’ needs and opening her heart, and urges adults and children to do the same. The results could be astounding, as Project Two Front Teeth was birthed out of children’s ideas and creativity.

This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organised by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx. It is also now featured on TED.com: https://www.ted.com/talks/dr_joyce_samoutou_wong_how_children_can_lead_social_impact
