Prayer Requests for the New Year

Thanksgiving Items

We are so grateful to God as we reflect on 2025. This year we reached our long-awaited milestone of moving into our brand-new purpose-built hospital in Ouesso. We have welcomed our first dental team who visited from the US to set up the dental clinic to run dental campaigns, and saw nearly 300 patients, treating many people who had never seen a dentist before. In the school holidays, we ran our first children’s camps for local kids to learn and have fun together. The theme was the Fruits of the Spirit. We also launched our School Health Program, and screened for eye, dental and general health problems for 630 students and teachers. We ran two training courses for ~50 local doctors and nurses. It has been our busiest year yet with over 4,000 consultations, over 70 surgeries performed, and over 250 pairs of glasses provided. Our patients are still consistently 100% satisfied with our services.

Prayer Needs

  1. 2026 is set for expanding the work of the hospital. We have medical volunteers and dental volunteers coming to join our outreaches, and non-medical volunteers helping us as well. We are amazed by what God is bringing together.
  2. Joyce will be in the UK in spring 2026 (17 March–27 April), visiting London, Leeds, Birmingham, Manchester, and Edinburgh — she is happy to travel to other places for the right opportunities. She’s looking for people who can help make introductions and hear the New Sight story. Please pray that she will be connected to the right churches, organisations, and NGOs.
  3. In 2026, we need God more than ever. Our donations went down by 60% last year and we desperately need funds for building residences for our staff and visitors. Please pray for provision of people to work alongside us, whether it’s short-term missions or mid- to long-term work. Please also pray for all the official processes we need as we become a bigger organisation in Congo.

We are so grateful for all the prayer and support we have been given.
