Mrs. Edith Ngan Chan is Chief Executive of New Sight and has general oversight of the administration of the organisation. She brings a valuable blend of expertise from the professional, commercial and not-for-profit sectors with over 20 years of experience in the financial services industry. Having spent her earlier career with prestigious organisations such as the Swire Group, Price Waterhouse (UK), KPMG (HK), and the Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) of Hong Kong, Edith has held senior management positions for the region with international groups like Invesco, Principal, and ABN AMRO Bank in Hong Kong.
In addition to her strong background in asset management and administration in many jurisdictions, Edith has direct experience in education, membership, and public service operations from her tenure as Executive Director of the Asia Society Hong Kong Centre, Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Securities and Investment Institute, and Regional Managing Director for East Asia of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors. She currently sits on the Lingnan University Council as Audit Committee Chair, International Christian School Board as Trustee Chairman and Shrewsbury International School Hong Kong as Governor.
Edith graduated from Stanford University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Management Science and Engineering and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountant in England and Wales. In 2016, she was awarded a Medal of Honour by the Hong Kong Government for her community services especially for her contribution to the work of the Environment and Conservation Fund.
