Celebrating Our 10th Anniversary

New Sight began on 6 April 2012! Ten years ago, Henri and Joyce, and their 3 young children, arrived at the Republic of Congo. Soon they established the first eye centre in the north of the country, to serve the blind and the visually impaired. New Sight is still here because of the sheer determination of our supporters and teams.
We had a wonderful 10th Birthday Party in April 2022, and launched a challenge in the summer called “10 Days of New Sight” #10daysofnewsight where we learned and encouraged each other to see ourselves differently and try new things. Check it out!

Who we are

New Sight Eye Care serves in the Republic of Congo to restore and protect sight, transforming lives and communities in the region.

Why Congo? We recognise that while eye health services are inadequate in many low-income countries, they are non-existent in northern Congo. That is why we chose to start with the poorest and most neglected communities in the north of Congo.

Why Eye Care

For every 5 blind persons, 4 have a treatable condition and half could regain their sight with a simple cataract operation. We have a passion to help these people see again.

Our patients have the most amazing transformations – be inspired by their stories.
