Thomas is a 71-year-old retired military officer and chief. He had been blind in both eyes for 4 years and needed his children to feed him and help him walk. His young granddaughter (in photo) guided him to the toilet. He felt he could no longer live. There was no help until the prefect of the region told him about New Sight. Despite his villagers’ fear that this foreign operation would swap his eye for a goat’s, he came to see us because he was desperate. He fully regained his sight after two operations and was grateful for what to him was ‘a miracle’!
